BFRC is excited to be an official partner at this year's Glazing Summit in Birmingham.
The window and door industry’s biggest ever conference, the Glazing Summit, takes place on September 12 at the Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre in Birmingham.
The event, now in its second year, brings together leaders from the glazing sector to focus on the big issues facing the industry including sustainability, innovation, the skills shortage and, of course, Brexit. New for 2019 is the Technical stage, where a selection of specialists will discuss technical challenges, changing legislation and compliance issues.
Our own Lis Clarke will take part in one of the day's key debate sessions at 2:20pm, titled 'Tackling Barriers to Growth - the skills shortage and margins' panel discussions. Together with industry colleagues Chris Alderton of Edgetech, Melissa Barber of Dribuild, and Howard Trotter of Shelforce, she'll discuss how to attract more young talent to the industry, whether companies are investing enough to create sustainable growth, and how companies can avoid selling on price and a 'race to the bottom'.

Lis Clarke, Operations Director at BFRC:
“We are delighted to be partnering with the Glazing Summit. Last year’s event was a highlight for us and we look forward to connecting once again with our colleagues from across the industry.”
“Having recently refreshed the BFRC brand we’re excited to talk about the importance of verified proof of energy performance, how this can help businesses sell the performance of their products rather than focus on discounting, and how advising consumers about the energy efficiency of window and door products not only helps them make good buying decisions but gains their trust and positive word of mouth.”
Anda Gregory, MD of the GGF Commercial companies:
“As the industry leader and following on from the strong debates at our BFRC Fabricator’s Forum event earlier this year, it’s a natural fit for us to continue the discussions on topics such as energy efficiency, regulations and industry and consumer awareness of the value of energy ratings. It promises to be a great event.”
The Glazing Summit 2019 will feature a fresh roster of key-note speakers, including respected industry leaders, trailblazers and proven experts, to tackle the issues on the agenda.
Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing Summit and CEO of glazing industry specialists Insight Data and Purplex Marketing, said:
“The BFRC is the UK’s most trusted energy performance ratings council so it’s great to have them on board for the 2019 Glazing Summit.”
